Model Student Project

At the end of our Human Body unit, you will be designing and building an organ system of a "model student". Organ systems we will have learned about in class are: the nervous system, the digestive system, the circulatory system, the musculoskeletal system, and the respiratory system. Visit Kids Health for more videos and facts about each system.

You will be asked to demonstrate how your model works, explain its function and describe how other organ systems affect your designed system. Examples will be shown in class.

You'll also be able to work with a partner! Think about what you would like to design and build, take a look at the rubric below, and start collecting some of the items listed to prepare for this project.

Suggested Materials and Equipment: cardboard, plasticene, paper toilet rolls, elastics, fasteners, plastic tubing, balloons, string and other found materials.
